National Women’s day is a South Africa is a public holiday celebrated annually on the 9th of August to celebrate the sisters, daughters, mothers and wives who fought against the apartheid government.
It is this day in 1956 that Approx 20 000 women took to the streets of Pretoria to stage a peaceful march to the Union Buildings
